How to cope with adolescense...

By about now you may be thinking "Oh boy why did I get a puppy!" It's okay I have been there too and am familiar with all the ins and outs. The approximate age of 6 months to 1 year olds seem to go through what some say are the terrible teens. Just take a breath and they dont have to be too terrible if we remember these considerations....they are still puppies with bigger bodies and for those who are not spayed there is the added complication of puberty. Keep calm and keep training with positive methods through this time frame. Give your pup lots of mental stimulation with training, introcucing them to new environments to creat flexibility, keep the chew toys coming, provide the necessary physical exercise and do not forget the naps. And keep up the housetraining, modified....some pups just need the added reminder if they are still very distracted during this time.
